I just woke up around 3pm. I work nights and was watching music videos this morning with DD so I didn't go to sleep until around 10am. She's begging me to take her to Build a Bear, so that's where I'm going today. I also want to check out a possible location for her birthday in July.

Congrats MaryMax! What a sweet blessing!

Congratulations on your newest grandson, Marymax. That is indeed wonderful news.

Here it's almost 11pm now and I had a great day too. I took Kamilla to the ceramic paint studio again and we painted gifts for mother's day. Kamilla decorated a lovely heart-shaped plate and I a heart-shaped box. Afterwards we went for lunch and a stroll through a mall in Vienna. It's been raining the whole day - has to as it's a long weekend - the weather will only turn nicer again once we go back to work on Tuesday.

Talk about insanity....

I just got a package from someone that I had no clue who they were from the return address (pardon my poor grammer).

So I opened it thinking I would understand once I saw the contents.

Inside was a note, with a letterhead and a name in the signature, and I still had no clue who they are. So I thought that the contents of the package would give me a clue, and I kept digging deeper......

What I found in the box was what looks like hundreds of those white filmy paper-like head coverings (like shower caps) that food-service people and surgical patients wear.......and two Beatles CD's--"The Capitol Albums Vol. 1" and "The Capitol Albums Vol. 2"

Now I love the Beatles and will enjoy the CD's, and I have absolutely no use for the paper shower caps (all of our patients are homebirths and we don't do surgery at home.... so......), but it was nice for someone to think of me. But I have no idea who it was!!!! It's raining here in Jefferson County, WA. A good day to play with my dolls! My 25 pound cat got up into the rafters under the porch roof today to get out of the rain, and then couldn't get down. I had to get a ladder and then, in typical cat fashion, he was scared to be rescued. At one point, he was hanging upside down with all 4 paws wrapped around the rafter! Had to grab him by the scruff of the neck and pull, which was no small task considering his weight and strength. After a brisk rubdown with a towel, he is now recuperating on the sofa. We've had all the adventures I need for one day!

Well I have been doing very little myself today. Although this morning I did clean and organize some paperwork that was sitting on our desk for a couple of months now.

I finished watching a video by PBS called "1940's House." The video gives you a very real idea of what it was like to live in London during World War II. The bombings and blackouts...life was terribly hard for them. Women did so much work around the home back then...we definitely have it easier now.

I love those "house" shows, MapleLeaf! The family on "1940s House" was one of my favorites. The first "house" show was "1900s House" and got a family that was kind of flaky, but the "1940s House" family is so good-natured and pretty well game for the adventure they have. It seems on the later shows they go out of their way to get people who AREN'T suited to their new surroundings at all. But I like the shows so much!

Folks in the US, "Texas Ranch House" (1867) is airing May 1-4 on PBS. I guess those shows get good ratings, because that's the sweeps period as far as I know. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/ranchhouse/

I don't feel like doing anything today either and I've been lying around most of the day, sleeping until noon. I'm wearing my baggy overalls which means I'm not going anywhere. I usually wear them around the house when I don't have anywhere to go. They're good for cleaning and laundry because of all the pockets. I got the idea from Kit. I'm trying to do my errands on days I have to drive for school, appointments, etc and not drive at all on other days so I can save precoius fuel and $.

I have a final exam for Earth Science on Wednesday afternoon and my art critique is Thursday, so I'm trying to get my art stuff done. All my projects are half-done: my pencil reproduction of a magazine photo of Leonardo DiCaprio, my abstract(also in pencil) and my Black and White geometric design, as well as my art notebook. Since I have to give all my stuff to my teacher on Thurs, I plan to take pictures of all my finished work before the critique. I'll post them here if you guys want to see them.

I was very lucky that because I am getting an A- in history I don't have to type my final history paper! That means I got an A in history, which will offset the C I'm likely to get in science. I'll probably get an A or B in art. I'll let you all know what I get when the official grades come in. It's funny that we now get our grades online but we still have to register with the telephone. Right now I'm making Velveeta 2% milk mac & cheese with frozen broccoli.

I need to clean, do dishes and laundry big time, but this weekend up until Thursday, it's all about studying for finals and getting my art stuff done. I can do that cleaning stuff next weekend after school is over.

I woke up bright and early to start more packing. I have found out that if I don't just get up and get to packing, I don't pack because I hate packing boxes so much. Even my brother who is never awake before 3 on the weekends went to bed at a decent hour last night and cleaned up the neglected yard, so it doesn't look bad for the new people who are moving in. Then I sat down and typed up some stuff for work on Monday. Our lazy, room mate sat around all day drinking beer and watching the NFL draft. I can't believe how someone can just sit there huddled up in a blankie all day while 2 other people work their butts off all day. He is moving with us and is way behind us when it comes to packing his stuff. I guess his folks are coming next weekend with a truck to help haul out most of his junk, so he probably thinks they will do most of it for him. Sorry for the tirade, just had to vent.
At least now I can veg out all night with my lap top,
I wish I was having dinner at Judaci's house. Tacos sound good.
I had a frozen dinner, since it's too much chaos of boxes to cook.
